Loopo — Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 · Last updated: 5 November 2026 (rev. 3)
This policy is written in plain language. It will be reviewed by a legal professional before the official launch; if anything changes, we update this page and the date above.
Who we are
Loopo is made by Arcwave Media, Friesestraatweg 229-12, 9743 AE Groningen, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce / KvK 97065684). Arcwave Media is responsible ("controller") for the personal data described here. Questions or requests: loopo@arcwavemedia.nl.
The short version
- No account, no e-mail, no real names, no birth date, no exact location, no contacts, camera or microphone.
- Your progress is stored on your own device. If you delete the app, your progress is deleted too (purchases can be restored with "Restore purchases").
- Players under 16 never get personalised ads, and their statistics are anonymous.
- We do not sell personal data.
What we collect and why
- On your device: game progress, settings, your privacy choices and your age group (under 13 / 13–15 / 16+). We ask your birth year once to choose the right settings, but we only keep the age group, not the year.
- Gameplay statistics (our own server, no third parties): to make Loopo better we count things like levels started, won or lost, time played, loops used, ads shown and purchases, what you do on Loopo Island (time spent there, things you tap, items and songs you choose, season hunts), plus your age group, platform, app version, device type (phone or tablet), device model (for example "iPhone 15", the same for millions of phones, never a serial number or device ID), system version, screen size, how smoothly the game runs (frame rate), device language, the local hour and weekday you start playing, sound on/off, which hero, trail and hat you use, and your country and province/state. Players 16+ who said yes: linked to a random install number, so we can see if people come back (consent). Players under 16: anonymous only, never linked to a number or a person (legitimate interest: improving the game, with as little data as possible). Players 16+ who said no: nothing is sent. Kept for 90 days.
- Purchases (only if a grown-up buys something): Apple handles the payment; we never see card or bank details. To check the purchase and to restore it later, RevenueCat (our payment partner) receives the purchase receipt (which product, price, country, date) and your random support code (shown in Settings, so we can find a purchase when you ask us for help). No name, email or ad ID. Legal basis: carrying out the purchase (contract). Kept as long as needed for the purchase, refunds and tax rules.
- Daily ranking (only if you switch it on): your first Daily score of the day, a random automatic name (for example "Brave Falcon 87" — nobody can type their own name), your hero, a random player number and a public friend code. To check fair play and for "race the ghost", the moves of that one run (finger positions on the board, nothing else) are kept. Scores are deleted after 30 days, the moves after 7 days. Players can report a name. Why: consent (you switch it on).
- Friends (optional): an invite link contains your public friend code and automatic name (never your private player number). Your friend list is stored only on your device.
- Reminders (optional, iPhone): if you allow notifications, the game schedules reminders on your own device ("Your Daily is ready", a streak reminder), at most once a day. Nothing is sent to us. You can switch them off anytime in your iPhone's own Settings (Notifications → Loopo).
- Advertising: our ad partner Google AdMob may process device identifiers to show and measure ads. Personalised ads are only shown to players aged 16+ who agreed (and, on iPhone, allowed tracking). Players under 16 or of unknown age only get non-personalised, general-audience ads. See how Google uses data for ads. Saw an ad that wasn't okay? Use "Report an ad" in Settings → About & privacy (it opens an e-mail to us) and we block it.
- Contacting support: Settings and About & privacy show a small random support code next to the version number (made on your device, not linked to anything on our server). If you tap "Contact us", your own e-mail app opens a ready-made message to us with that code, the game version, your device model and system version, screen size, your level and language. You see all of it before sending, and you decide whether to send it. We use your e-mail only to help you, and delete it when your question has been handled (at the latest after 12 months).
- Protection against abuse: to stop overloading or cheating, our server briefly counts requests per connection. For this it uses a scrambled (hashed) version of the IP address that is kept for a few minutes at most and never stored with your game data.
Who helps us (processors and partners)
| Partner | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosting of the website and our server (ranking, statistics) | Database in Western Europe; Cloudflare may process data worldwide under its data processing addendum and EU standard contractual clauses |
| Google (AdMob, User Messaging Platform) | Advertising and the ad consent message | Google's own privacy policy |
| RevenueCat, Inc. | Checking and restoring purchases | USA; under RevenueCat's data processing addendum (part of its terms) and EU standard contractual clauses |
| Apple (App Store, notifications) | App distribution, purchases, reminders on your device | Apple's own privacy policy |
Your choices and rights
- Change your privacy choices anytime: Settings → About & privacy → Privacy choices (and "Ad privacy options" where shown).
- Delete your account, meaning everything we keep online about you (ranking scores and statistics linked to you): Settings → About & privacy → "Delete my account", or e-mail us. Purchase records stay with Apple and RevenueCat, as tax law requires.
- Leave the ranking by switching off "Show me on the ranking"; your scores are removed.
- Delete the local data by uninstalling the app.
- In the EU/UK you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object, and to data portability. You can also complain to a supervisory authority; in the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Children
Loopo is a general-audience game that children also enjoy. Because of that: players under 16 never see personalised ads, only see real-money offers after a grown-up check, their statistics are anonymous, ranking names are always automatic, and there is no chat. Parents can contact us at any time to have their child's online data deleted.
Changes
If we change how we use data, we update this page and the date at the top. Important changes are also shown in the game.
